From email from Ross 26/2/09
This updates the procedure after discussion recently concerning the title: Critical thinking in context.
Firstly, a clarification. Category 1 – Screenrights applies to off-air copies made by Murdoch's AV Service
This does not include AVS copies of non-copyrighted material which are treated as category 3 – Lectopia unrestricted. Also unrestricted for Lectopia are Murdoch publications, so copies of them are obviously also unrestricted.
I have made a note under category 3 in the procedures to cover the above.
Also, it has not been clear what to do if an item is coded in fixed field NOTE as a gift (g), but also needs the code ‘p’ for Lectopia. In such a case use the code p. Don’t record that it was a gift in the item record in such a case. The gift code is only needed for monthly stats and omission in these rare cases would be only a minor inaccuracy in what is inevitably a rubbery total.
Finally, I have copied the procedure below to a folder on G so there is a quick way to retrieve it without trolling through emails. g:\collection services/video-dvd lectopia categories.docx
